Polish Comfort Food To Ocala

Just opened

Aneta Stanicki wants to spread the joy of Polish comfort food to Ocala at her new place, Aneta’s Bistro.

The native of Poland ran a restaurant in her home country and, after moving to Citra about a year ago, decided to jump into the local food scene at the site of the former Rocky Cola establishment at 2065 NW 4th Ave. The restaurant opened Friday, serving lunch and dinner.

In addition to well-known favorites such as pierogies and kielbasa, Stanicki makes homemade classics like bigos (stewed fresh cabbage, sauerkraut and sausage), golabki (stuffed cabbage rolls with tomato sauce) and beef goulash (spicy beef stew with onions, peppers, mushrooms and carrots served over potato pancakes.)

“We want to teach people about Polish food,” said Stanicki.
